The long term development of the former Albertson’s property will take several years to realize. In the interim, the URA is activating the parking lot area as a community gathering place with space for activities like food trucks, concerts, farmers and artisan markets, festivals, and other neighborhood oriented events.

When will the Project be completed?
Initial installation is planned to be completed by the end of July, 2026. While the project will be usable at that time, additional improvements like artwork projects will continue to be added.
Why does the URA support this project?
Redevelopment of the area north of Bristlecone, east of College and south of Willox is in the master planning phase and will take several years to realize. While this work is proceeding, the URA Board wants to create a space that can benefit all of the residents in the North College area and start creating a focal point around local food, music and art.
What will be changing?
A much needed community amenity will be added to the neighborhood. The change we are looking for is full use of the area by the surrounding neighborhoods.for family fun, community togetherness and honoring the area’s history and current residents.
