Foothills Mall Underpass Project

Under Construction

Construction of the Foothills pedestrian/bicyclist underpass under College Avenue that will connect the Foothills Mall to the Mason Street Corridor and Max Bus Rapid transit has started. Completion is expected spring/summer 2017. College Ave traffic detouring is in place and will be ongoing until spring 2017. Current project schedule and related construction events:

Earthwork-involves a lot of heavy equipment, machinery - Now through spring 2017

Underpass installation of pre-fab concrete box - involves cranes, heavy equipment- Now through December 2017 Concrete retaining walls sidewalks – heavy equipment, concrete pumps and concrete trucks, several crews- Now through spring 2017 Road construction Final paving work on College will happen upon completion of the underpass in late spring, early summer 2017. Landscaping- Spring/Summer 2017 This work schedule may change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.

The developer and contractor involved have both committed to adhering to the City noise ordinance by not commencing any construction work prior to 7 a.m. and ending no later than 8 p.m.

What's New

City Council to consider URA Items at September 30 meeting

The Fort Collins City Council will consider URA items at the upcoming City Council meeting on September 30, including:

  1. A resolution to adopt revised policies and procedures relating to financial management for the Urban Renewal Authority.
  2. A resolution approving a Redevelopment Agreement between the Fort Collins Urban Renewal Authority and Northern Colorado Feeders Supply, Inc. at 300 Hickory Street in the North College Urban Renewal area.

Mall Financing Package Approved

The City Council on May 7 approved an amended Midtown Urban Renewal plan for the $312 million Foothills Mall project that will include an underpass to the MAX Bus Rapid Transit project and a new Youth Activity Center. Check back here for construction updates!
